Last Generation

Scaler follows the story of a 12-year-old boy named Bobby Jenkins who stumbles across the evil plot of his next door neighbor to dominate the world through use of mutated lizards. His neighbor, Looger, captures and restrains Bobby, striking him with a bolt of energy that transforms him into a shape-shifting alter-ego, Scaler — a vivid blue and yellow mutant lizard with razor sharp claws, a long tongue, and the ability to shift into several other kinds of lizards.
Within Shifters you play as Alleron, the lead character from Warriors of Might and Magic. Within this game Alleron must defeat a horde of flesh and metal invaders who are replacing the villages with steam-powered cities. Unlike the previous game, Alleron has gained the power to shapeshift and can assume 24 different creature forms, such as a humanoid ram and griffin like creature etc.

Altered Beast

“The Genesis version of Altered Beast and it’s subsequent remake on the GBA, are side-scrolling beat-‘em-ups, that’s sees you playing as a resurrected warrior, brought back from the dead to fight a hoard of monsters and their evil master. Gameplay is fairly simple, the screen will moves slowly to the right as various creatures and monsters show up to try to kill you, can you’re given various moves to defeat them. What separates these games from other is the fact that after collecting three special orbs, your character will transform into one are several different beast forms, depending on which level you are playing in, usually giving you special powers, aiding in the defeating of enemies and bosses.” — Oy
“The PS2 version of the Altered Beast series is currently the only game in the series to be made in 3D. There were also many other changes made too, such as the switch to a modern Sci-Fi setting, the ability to specifically upgrade your Beast forms in whichever way you chose, and the inclusion of some rather impressive CGI Cut-scenes. The gameplay itself still kept much of the beat-‘em-up feel of the 2D games, but allowed the player to progress at their own pace, and even explore to find secrets, allowing for much more of an adventure feel to the game. With the inclusion of upgradeable attacks, and various combo moves, and the ability to shift forms at any time, the game offered players the choice of how their character developed and how they’re fought against their enemies and bosses, of which there are many. Unfortunately, this game was only released in Europe and Japan, so anyone wanting it in America, would have to import.” — Oy

Legend of Zelda

“Majora’s Mask is set after the young link half of Ocarina of Time. Link finds himself in the land of Termina where he is quickly ambushed by a thieving Skull Kid, then cursed and turned into a deku scrub. Along the way, Link also unlocks the ability to turn into a Goron and a Zora as he must race against time to prevent the end of the world. Majora’s Mask is considerably darker than other Zelda titles.” — TZ
“The latest in the long running Zelda game series, Twilight Princess, released for both the Gamecube and the Wii, saw a move to the more realistic and darker side of the Zelda games after the cartoony and relatively light-heartedness of Wind Waker. Giving the player, as always in control of hero Link, the ability to shift between Human form and Wolf form, it added a new dynamic too the game, allowing for new areas to be discovered and enemies to be fought in different ways. With the realistic styling and darker storyline, this Zelda game is considered by many to be one of the best ones made.” — Oy
